Combat & presentation
Stronger close-in defense, clearer views at sea
Automatic anti-aircraft cannon and close-in weapon systems now retain more of their accuracy as aircraft approach from the edge of their range. Previously, the steep accuracy falloff could spend a short magazine on very few hits. The change improves their useful defensive envelope; it does not increase damage per hit, magazine size or close-range accuracy. Heavy flak keeps its existing accuracy curve.
Ship lighting and animated aircraft landing gear add detail to the fleet. When following an aircraft, a return-to-ship control makes it easier to get back to your own vessel. During combat, aircraft camera choices are limited to friendly aircraft; enemy aircraft can be observed after your ship sinks.
Island hills have rounder shapes, low rocky skerries sit closer to the sea, and island lighting responds more consistently to the sky. Clouds are more stable, with authored skies blending through five-minute battle cycles.
Shop tours start immediately, making it quicker to look around a ship before returning to fleet browsing. Multiplayer battles start in daylight.
More room to build, more ways to follow the action
The ship statistics panel can be minimized to free up space while building. Camera presets now live in the View menu, and every owned ship appears in the fleet instead of needing to be archived and restored.
Battle cameras can cycle between your ship and available aircraft. Weapon launches have new animation, and patrol-ship turret alignment has been corrected so the visible mounts better match their firing direction.
